J.E. Austin Associates (JAA) held its first Pause and Reflect session for the USAID Bicycles for Growth (BFG) project in Ghana. Pause and Reflect is an important component of JAA’s Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) framework. The session, which took place in Accra in the last week of August 2024, brought together the project team and representatives from key Ghanaian partners, including HOPin Academy, Kosmos Innovation Center, Village Bicycle Project, Opportunity International, and other key players in Ghana's bicycle market system. JAA’s counterpart in Malawi, World Bicycle Relief, also participated, sharing valuable insights and innovative ideas from their experience implementing BFG in Malawi. The participants reviewed BFG activities, shared experiences, and introduced innovations that contributed to refining the work plan. This collaborative effort will enhance the project's approach to reducing barriers to the supply and uptake of affordable, fit-for-purpose bicycles in Ghana, strengthening strategies to ensure the success of BFG’s pilot phase.
